In our world, meditation is still considered something that only spiritual or hippie people do, but in many cases people use meditation to manage ongoing stress, reduce inflammation, heal the body, and also discover all the things that prevent us from evolving in a life of distractions.
In more ancient times, great leaders and rulers, such as Marcus Aurelius, ruler of the Roman Empire, would sit in meditation to observe what was happening inside and outside of them and how not to compromise as a person in this world.
I started practicing meditation a decade ago because I realized that it could reduce inflammation and it was something I needed for many years with ulcerative colitis, an inflammatory disease that I suffered from for most of my 20s, and I can say that the meditation process was an essential part of my healing process. So I can say for sure that meditation improved my health, but beyond that, I will tell you that meditation changed my life.
I felt stuck and confused for most of my adult life, most of my life I waited and hoped that something would change but I didn’t know what was supposed to change, what I was supposed to want and how I was supposed to do it.
Why does this happen at all, that we are confused about the meaning of life and our role in it?
Basically, none of us are what we were meant to be.
Society, culture, education, parents all influence innocent children who just wanted to discover themselves. But the power is in the hands of the adults.
All they want is to turn the child into a tool that will serve the interests of society. Because God forbid the child will not be able to integrate into our such good culture.
So we start to shape the child into something that society needs, and in a certain sense, we kill the child’s soul and clothe him with a false identity, and the child, doesn’t even know that he is wearing a false identity and missing out on his own identity and uniqueness.
So we grow up with a false identity, built only on the needs of society, so we become dependent on constant approval from outside. And when we are alone, everything becomes strange because who will approve of who I am.
Most people are afraid to be with themselves, always making plans, breakfast with a friend, work during the day and hanging out at the end of the day. Even if I am exhausted from the week and all I want is to rest, I will drive to the other side of the country and spend most of the weekend on the road just so I don’t stay home and do nothing.
Did you know that most disasters happen on weekends? Suicides, accidents, drug and alcohol related damage, overeating, more murders, thefts… this is what happens when people don’t know what to do without the distraction of working from Sunday to Thursday.
Once you are alone, the lie begins to fall apart, and the real me raises its head, and it asks who I really am? And it’s scary, so I immediately want to make more plans or watch something that will distract me.
No one wants to be lonely, and everyone wants to belong to something, a football team, a political party, a community, a country, and so on.
Because the identity that has been built cannot do without support. Who am I without my identity that has been built on the needs of society? The moment I’m alone I start to feel a strange feeling.
For many years you believe that you are someone and in a moment of loneliness you start to feel that it is not you.
And even if you want to let your true self express itself, it will take time after years of repression and oppression.
Every person needs to understand that everything they do in this life stems from the false personality that has been created, all our actions for many years stem from it. It is an old habit, and old habits are deeply ingrained.
But habits can be changed. Meditation is one way, it is beyond a tool, it is an opportunity to change life.
I have not yet known a method as effective as meditation, the other methods allow the false personality to manage the ways of thinking.
Meditation is just a synonym for the state in which you are alone, quiet, waiting for the true self to reveal itself.
It is not action, it is quiet relaxation.
Slowly, when you meditate, you begin to feel a new quality within you, a new vitality, a new beauty, a new intelligence, that does not belong to anyone, that grows within you.
And if you are not afraid, it will grow fruits that you did not even know existed.
It will be you.
Let’s get back to health
Stress can be a good thing,
but continuous stress, if not managed, can destroy our health and lives.
Stress makes us sick, stupid and slower. Stress weakens the immune system, damages the thyroid gland, creates bad cholesterol, damages metabolism and the balance and function of hormones in the body, damages our sleep and energy levels.
Stress is also responsible for our thinning hair.
Everyone knows that stress damages the immune system. When the immune system is damaged, every organ in the body can be damaged. Inflammation levels in the body increase and our functioning is impaired.
Stress accelerates aging, damages sleep, digestion, and our state of mind.
And who doesn’t experience stress in the reality we live in?
So if stress creates illness, what is the opposite of stress?
Meditation in recent decades has become a tool studied by science,
and there is no doubt, both from my personal experience, and from the testimonies of people around the world, and from the results of studies,
that meditation has the ability to lower stress and anxiety levels and thus allow the body to do its job properly, relax, recover, rest, and heal itself.
Meditation is a whole world to discover, in the Shinui course, I teach in an hour-long lesson – different types of meditation, how to practice alone without any aids, how to know which meditation to practice and when, and in addition a one-hour lesson on writing with different techniques and different practices.
I encourage you to start or persevere in the practice if you want to get out of a rut, discover yourself or simply bring something new to your life that can change your life for the better and maybe even create a life you never imagined, meditation will change your life.
Epigenetic science proves that we can change our genetic expression and also our DNA and transform it.
Our genetics are influenced by our choices, and genes can change their shape based on their response to the environment.
I really understand more and more that managing stress and obsessive thoughts through meditation and other tools like writing, really makes a physiological change in the body, they slow down the aging process and at the same time improve the body’s ability to heal.
Some things that meditation does
Reduces stress and anxiety levels
Increases dopamine levels (antidepressant)

Improves sleep and energy levels
Strengthens the immune system (t cells)
