This week I was sitting here in Sri Lanka in a cafe and started talking to a girl sitting next to me.
A fifth-year medical student from Germany.
She told me about her internship here in Sri Lanka, and I told her about the healing center I was building.
I thought to myself that here were two people, both of whom were involved in health, and at the same time with very different methodologies.
When I told her this, she said that it was important to combine the two together,
and I wondered what that meant for her.
She said that, let’s say in the case of cancer, you also need to change your lifestyle, but
“Cancer cannot be cured without chemotherapy.”
I asked in response, had she heard of different methods for curing cancer, such as water fasting?
She immediately said that fasting is a very dangerous thing and that it is irresponsible to say such a thing.
So I told her that not only did I know people who had cured cancer through fasting, but I had also met experts who talked about it and used fasting to cure challenging diseases, including cancer.
In response, she asked for scientific evidence.
I asked her if she didn’t think that people’s testimonies were sufficient?
And she said no.
She went on to say that this was a topic that needed to be researched,
And I argued that it would be very difficult to find someone who would directly prove that cancer could be cured through fasting, because fasting is not profitable for any industry, no one would benefit from it, since fasting is free.
When I asked if she would be willing to check and research the matter,
She was stumped and frightened by my question.
I won’t bore you with the details of the story, but it was a conversation that was both very pleasant and complex,
She encountered so many things there that she had no idea about;
Like how Hippocrates, who invented Western medicine, the one she studies, used fasting to heal – but today, you don’t hear about it in any allopathic school (pharmaceutical medicine)
or how autophagy, the process that occurs in the body during a water fast, helps the body get rid of damaged cells
400 times faster than usual.
And what happens when we fast, when we abstain from food, is that the enormous energy that is constantly going into our digestion,
is freed up to cleanse the body of toxins and do its job properly.
Most diseases are caused by toxins, and when we fast we have the opportunity to cleanse ourselves.
She, for that matter, thinks that chemotherapy is the only way to treat cancer cells,
So I asked her if she had the option right now as a healthy person to choose between
- Drinking only water (dangerous for her) for 24 hours
or
- Feeding herself chemotherapy, which would she prefer?
Of course, she said she would prefer water, and the conversation just got complicated.
At some point I asked us to take a step back, and I asked her what she thought causes cancer in the first place?
She said that many things,
I asked, for example, what?
The first thing she had to say was the sun – so I showed her some studies that prove the importance of sun in healing.
And a study that shows that a lack of vitamin D is directly linked to melanoma and more serious cases of melanoma
But what else causes cancer?
By the way, you don’t have to treat it as a terrible disease, it’s all a matter of attitude.
Cancer cells develop in our bodies at any given moment and as they come, they disappear.
It is the encounter of cancer cells with the environment, with processed food and with human habits that makes them life-threatening.
If the body were not acidic or inflamed, cancer cells would not settle and develop, in most cases.
There are quite a few foods in our diet that have been linked to the formation of cancer cells in the body: white sugar, seed oils, processed milk, food colorings
Any processed food that creates oxidative stress can lead to the development of cancer.
The care products that we have become accustomed to using on a regular basis are rich in substances that are by definition carcinogenic,
In many cases, we can even find them in sunscreen.
Heavy metals such as aluminum or mercury that can be found in certain foods or animals.
They have also been linked to cancer
And what about our thoughts?
When a person is under constant stress, anger, hatred, negative thinking, meaninglessness, unhealthy relationships, and so on,
they can all lead to the development of an illness.
After all, what is an illness if not a request from our body that we change something in our lives?
An illness can be a gift.
It’s not for nothing that we hear stories about people who got cancer, left their jobs, their relationships, and started over.
And now they are healthy and their lives are more wonderful than ever.
The illness was an opportunity for them to change what they were used to suppressing.
In a conversation with her, I realized how much I know about health thanks to my podcast
At some point, she asked me if I was a doctor?
Since I had demonstrated knowledge of the body’s processes and healing,
As a medical student, she is learning one very specific narrative about illnesses, dealing with them with the help of medication, and there is so much knowledge that is missing there.
All because there are no financial interests in curing illnesses.
As the conversation progressed, she became less comfortable.
So what does she discover in the conversation? That there is a great deal she doesn’t know.
And that what she does know and thinks is not necessarily in sync with reality.
If all her life she told herself that she was going to save lives or heal people,
and that she chose the most important and pure profession in the world, then she realizes in a short conversation that the financial interests of pharmaceutical companies influence her actions.
She doesn’t learn about health or healing (beyond the slogans of “choose a healthy lifestyle, or eat nutritious food”)
She doesn’t really learn how processed foods, unhealthy lifestyles, and overuse of medications create diseases.
And she certainly doesn’t know how to channel nutrition and routine for the benefit of human healing.
As the conversation progressed, she developed a dislike for me, despite my pleasant tone and my asking of questions.
It is easier to dismiss people or any other “natural” way of healing –
Most people will not be convinced that diet creates disease,
they will not believe that there is even a way to cure disease without harmful methods.
They do not know that allopathic medicine by definition means symptomatic treatment, not cure.
Now let’s get this straight,
I’m not against doctors,
Emergency medicine is an amazing thing,
And there are also wonderful doctors – who combine different and diverse methods to treat a person and their health.
I interviewed some of them and they bring a lot of healing to the world.
After all, a person who has studied the human body in such depth for so many years can do wonders if he uses the laws of nature to heal a person.
But if we are not willing to question the known methods, what chance do we have of healing ourselves, and understanding that the power is often in our own hands?
Self-healing requires a very scary encounter with yourself and with life.
Most people end up choosing chemotherapy. (And God forbid I have any criticism of that)
Why? There are many reasons
One – because they don’t know any other way.
The second – because they are afraid to try something unconventional – because most of the time, the environment and even the experts will scare you away from trying something different.
The third – because they do not believe in nature’s way.
The fourth – because they prefer someone else (the doctor) to take responsibility for them.
After all, fasting, dietary changes, meditation, quitting work, changing your thinking, moving to a country, changing the hardships in your life, going on a world-wide journey or living on a green mountain with a blue view,
are the ones that will make you solely responsible for your life,
and this is simply too much for most people. Because we were raised differently.
It was not for nothing that I was sick for eight years, dependent on pills and experts to know what to do.
Only when I realized that there was another way, and that health is not a matter that belongs to anyone but me – only then did I heal myself
So I will continue to raise awareness about healing and true and natural health,
because it is (mostly) free.
The purpose of the text is of course to open our minds to new approaches and not to present a definitive fact about how to deal with cancer
