For shiny hair
If you want
clean, shiny hair
strengthen the hair roots
prevent dandruff
prevent baldness
and have a fun, anemone-scented hair,
all you need to do is put chemicals on your head every day.
Our whole lives we are exposed to advertisements, which tell us that if we just do what they say we will have better hair than we have had so far
Because shampoo is fun
And then you will have fun
And you will be a man with a knot in the shower
And you will be really beautiful after shampooing
And you will suddenly be clean and sexy
And then you will be really clean
And your fine hair needs a shampoo like this, and curly hair like this, and oily hair like this, and dry hair like this, and straight hair like this, and hair with damaged roots like this, and if it falls out like this, and dandruff like this,
And if you shampoo you will look exactly like the model who advertises, the one who has never tried the product herself,
What bullshit, it’s embarrassing to think that I fell for it.
Shampoo, or shampooing, is an invention invented by the giant company “Procter & Gamble” who, like many other corporations, realized that it is quite easy to make people, by creating insecurity, a feeling of dirt and fear of it, consume their products every day.
And it worked.
An entire industry that makes billions thanks to the insecurity they have created in each and every one of us.
Most people in the world wash their hair every day, and if they think for a moment about the idea of giving up or telling someone they didn’t wash their hair, a connotation of dirt or greasiness will immediately arise.
So first of all, we are not dirty.
Most of us think of bacteria as dirty things – and dangerous.
But as you already know, we live with bacteria, and these bacteria are essential for our digestive system, mood, skin health, and immune system.
The entire bacterial environment in our body belongs to our intestinal bacteria (the microbiome).
And to maintain it, we know that it is better to avoid antibiotics, eat fermented foods and organic fruits and vegetables to help these bacteria thrive, but our “clean” lifestyle is still harming them.
Contrary to popular belief, regular contact with dirt is important because it teaches our microbiome to recognize friendly bacteria versus unfriendly bacteria.
I’m not saying that there is no place for using soap occasionally when necessary, but even then I’m talking about a gentle soap made from organic and natural ingredients, not antibacterial soaps that are often full of harsh chemicals.
When we clean ourselves with chemicals in the shower every day, or with every use we make of antibacterial soap, we strip our skin of the bacteria that keep us free of acne and eczema.
So unless you just returned from a week in the field where you crawled in mud, the only places that need daily soap are the armpits and groin.
The rest of the body does just fine with a rinse with water – even after a sweaty workout.
By the way, women are advised not to wash their vulva with soap, we cover this in the women’s course if you want to learn more about it.
Contrary to what we were taught, dirt does not cause disease – but repeatedly killing the good bacteria on our skin can actually damage our immune system.
That’s why it was so crazy during the Corona period to see people constantly using antibacterial gel to clean their hands.
Cheap chemicals
Soap (originally made from oil and ash) has become a mixture of cheap chemicals over time, and while it helps us maintain hygiene, our main need for hygiene is for our hands, which really need it.
Our heads, on the other hand, not only don’t need it, but are damaged by overuse. The scalp secretes natural oil that is meant to protect it, and washing our hair every day completely removes this oil from our heads and creates an extreme reaction that causes our scalp to secrete more oil. So a person who washes their hair every day will not survive a day without washing it because their hair will become very oily. This is part of the genius and the problem with these products, they have not only created a demand, they have also created a strong dependency on us.
Brilliant.
Of course, after shampooing, when there is no oil at all on the scalp, the hair looks like Justin Bieber’s hair (when it was just starting out), so you have to add conditioner, and after that, put substances on the hair to restore it to the shape that was taken with all the chemicals, and there is no end to it.
Everyone knows how hair is most beautiful after a whole day at the beach when we get in and out of the water and all the salt and body fluids mix and we look our best.
So they did a marketing exercise on us, and along the way, our system was screwed.
Most hair products (even the expensive ones that make promises) are saturated with chemicals that dry out the scalp, and are absorbed into the skin and bloodstream. Some of these substances are called sulfates.
Sulfate – SLS is a cheap detergent that is found in very high quantities in household cleaning products and hygiene products. The function of the salts in various hair products, such as shampoo, is to create the foaming effect and “clean” grease that has accumulated on the hair.
The main problem with sulfate is that it causes skin irritation and is known to worsen existing skin problems. Studies show that prolonged use of shampoos and masks with salts can lead to a decrease in the ability of the sebaceous glands to produce natural oils that are important for lubricating the hair and scalp. Other studies have shown that salts can contribute to long-term hair loss in men and women. The salts in shampoos can cause dry scalp and dandruff (flaking of the scalp). Worse, there are studies that indicate residues of SLS in the brain, lungs, liver and heart. There are also findings linking SLS to hormonal imbalance. Shocking.
The foam in shampoo is a toxic substance and the act of massaging and introducing the substance into the scalp is dangerous. All water-soluble soaps that make a lot of foam work on the same principle, but the foam creates the feeling that something is happening compared to natural substances that do not create foam and then we think that the cleaning process is not taking place, they connected us to foaming = good cleaning.
So people wash their hair every day with toxic substances full of promises that are absorbed and damage the scalp and they don’t understand why they have dandruff, hair loss, dryness and all kinds of other skin diseases.
To clean the hair you don’t need chemicals that are absorbed into the skin and into the bloodstream, you need things that will nourish the scalp or clean it (if necessary)
Or not wash at all.
I haven’t washed my hair in years
Most of my adult life I had dandruff, hair loss (in large quantities), and a dependency on shampoo because my hair would be so oily if I didn’t wash it. On the worst days, I also took anti-hair loss pills for a few months and then got my life back on track.
At some point, when I started to pay attention to all the poison I was putting into my body, which also includes perfume, “protective” cream, deodorant, etc., I switched my soap and shampoo to natural products, meaning without chemicals. There was already an improvement, but I still didn’t like the fact that my scalp was drying out and my hair looked lifeless and shapeless.
Later on, I heard about all sorts of movements of people who don’t wash their hair (no poo)
So I took a break from washing my hair on a surfing trip I was in Mexico, and after a few weeks I noticed that all the problems were solved. The amount of money I spent on expensive anti-hair loss or regrowth shampoo, and all I had to do was stop washing my hair?
Hair grows from the inside out. In order for the body to have the energy to grow strong hair, we need to feed it with energy. A diet rich in rich and strengthening foods, from nature. Whether it is fruits and vegetables, whole grains and legumes or eggs, fish and meat (all organic) will give our body the nutrition it needs to grow strong hair.
If our diet is based on ultra-processed foods – cornflakes, pastries, sugary drinks, alcohol, carbohydrates, empty stomachs, etc., all of these will lead to several things:
Nutritional deficiencies.
High inflammation.
Thyroid function will be impaired.
All of these will lead to damage to body functions, imbalance and function of hormones such as testosterone and progesterone and also to our ability to grow hair.
What about stress? Most of us are under constant stress, and that’s fine, but if we don’t balance this stress with relaxing activities, our hair is the first thing that will suffer along with our mental health.
Hair, since it is the least important “organ” in the body, is the first thing that the body will give up in case of overload.
Stress creates illness, stupidity and slowness (it’s not for nothing that you lose your house keys once a week) and yet most people choose not to meditate, a field that has existed for 6000 years, and is also one of the most scientifically researched fields. It has only positive effects and yet most people don’t sit down to meditate “it’s not for me”, “I can’t do it, “I’m not good at it”,
How does a Western person have the privilege of not meditating? I don’t know.
How to Create Change Course, an online course for practicing meditation, writing, and building a healthy and beneficial routine, will teach you (among other things) how to practice meditation on your own
and give your body and mind the best gift you will ever give it.
Baldness and body and mind
Have you ever noticed that most generals are bald?
And most musicians have hair?
What would you say is the essential difference between the two?
In order for a person to be healthy, he needs to be balanced, not only in terms of routine, nutrition, and lifestyle, but also on an emotional level. A general, for example, a person who is very task-oriented, constantly busy with goals, and does not give room to his emotions, will have a lot of his male energy. Does that make sense?
We all have feminine energy and male energy:
The male is goal-oriented, practical, logical, she knows what she needs to do, and that’s all that matters to her. Results. The female is the one who wants to stop for a moment and admire how beautiful nature is, to be moved by a song, to create, to express emotions and also to cry.
The general suffers from excess male energy and therefore has no hair on his head.
And the musician who gives space to all emotions where all the passion and love for life enjoys abundant hair.
Of course there are exceptions because we are all different.
But we have an opportunity here to pay attention to the expression and the way in which we conduct ourselves in front of life and in front of ourselves, the balance of the feminine and masculine is an important thing and can improve life in a significant way but that’s for another news. So there are quite a few reasons and effects for the phenomena that happen at the top of our body
Let’s get down to practice
But if I still want or need to clean my hair, what do I do?
Natural shampoo – for cleanliness I use baking soda mixed with water, it cleans the hair easily and costs a penny and a half.
For a natural conditioner, you can use apple cider vinegar mixed with water, it will soften the hair easily.
I’m not against natural shampoo at all (there’s no shortage of these in health food stores) and I personally just don’t like the way my hair looks afterwards.
In the case of natural shampoo or baking soda and vinegar, these are things I do once a year, when I really need to clean my hair. I can testify, from those close to me, that my head smells nice and my hair is clean, rinsing with clean water does the job and the hair gets used to not washing it every day.
What about nourishing your hair? To nourish your hair and strengthen it from the root, you can apply an egg (the yolk) that’s nature’s multivitamin rich in minerals and vitamins, or apply a fatty avocado and minerals and let them sit for a few minutes. Does that sound strange to you? Think about how strange it is for us to use nature, but it’s not strange for us to use chemicals created from industrial waste.
Regarding body soap,
I try to clean only the armpits and groin (sometimes when I’m not focused I clean the whole body)
I do this with a solid, natural soap, which can be found at any health food store.
Women, if you have long hair and this seems too challenging for you, I recommend you watch YouTube videos of women who gave up shampoo and their hair looks amazing.
To sum up,
Our body is an amazing machine, which has been developing for millions of years and no shampoo, dermatologist, or product of this or that kind will scratch its ankles even in thousands of years. We need to continue consuming more knowledge and experiences.
Knowledge is power.
